Job Title:  Operation Specialist

Position Summary

The Operation Specialist supports the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of custodial, maintenance, grounds, and district operations functions. The Operation Specialist assists with the organization and completion of work assignments across District facilities and provides support in specialized operational areas, including maintenance repairs, roof repairs, floor care, equipment repair, snow removal, compliance preparation, inspections, flooring work, HVAC troubleshooting, and grounds operations.

 

Qualifications

Minimum High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in custodial, maintenance, buildings and grounds, or school operations required. Experience as a lead in a maintenance or buildings and grounds environment preferred. Experience working in a multi-building environment preferred. In possession of a valid Black Seal Boiler Operator’s license or higher. Required criminal history background check. Valid New Jersey driver’s license is required.

Knowledge of roof repairs, floor care upkeep, custodial equipment repair, grounds equipment repair, snow removal operations, flooring removal and installation, HVAC troubleshooting, and grounds responsibilities preferred. Experience working with a Fire Marshal, state compliance officials (for example, QSAC and Facilities Checklists), and developing pre-inspection and post-inspection plans preferred.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS 

Ability to be proficient in computer applications pertinent to support the position, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Google Suite, and Genesis Employee Portal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT 

12 Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any applicable and collective negotiations agreement.
